I have wanted to join Marcy of Ben and Me for her Blogging Through the Alphabet series for quite some time now. When I learned, a bit late, that Marcy has started up a new round, I decided to jump in!

Ben and Me

I am going with a theme for this, as I believe it will help me to complete the post each week just a bit more easily. As my title states, my theme will be All Things Writing.

I have always enjoyed writing. My English classes were always a favorite. I actually enjoyed researching and writing papers. Now that I am a blogger, I love writing even more! The ability to combine my love for the written word, photos, promoting products we enjoy, as well as telling you all about favorite books and authors, is right up my alley.

How will my posts look each week? Well, I don’t know exactly, but here is an inexhaustive list of what could be included.

  • author interviews
  • poems
  • short stories
  • word studies
  • my thoughts on teaching  a certain aspect of the English language, such as grammar, poetry, essays, and more
  • favorite writing resources

This week, I’ve written a haiku.

Perhaps you would like to learn more about writing haikus. Kim, of Write Shop, offers Writing Haiku Poetry, a terrific guide for teaching your children about this fun type of poem! (or maybe for yourself!) Be sure to check out the many other resources to be found on Kim’s blog and company site, too!

Will you be joining me in round 5 of Marcy’s Blogging Through the Alphabet series? Be sure to head on over to Marcy’s blog to learn how it all works. Then get started! Each week’s linky is open through 11:59 pm on Friday.

Do you know which emotion I’ve chosen for my haiku that begins with the letter A? Please share your guess in the comments.
